USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C to B Cable
This one-metre cable connects a USB-C host to a device fitted with a USB-B 3.1 port. It carries data at up to 10 Gbps and can deliver up to 3 A of power. The black jacket is 3.3 feet long and terminated with two moulded connectors.
Suits USB-B 3.1 peripherals
The cable fits printers, scanners, external drives or docks that use the USB-B 3.1 interface and need Gen2 bandwidth. It will not work with USB-A devices, Micro-B ports or any connector other than USB-B 3.1.
10 Gbps Gen2 data rate
The single specification that decides fit is the 10 Gbps Gen2 rating; if the peripheral only supports 5 Gbps the cable still functions but the extra headroom goes unused.

Questions about this item
How do I connect the USB-C and USB-B ends to my devices, and which orientation mistake should I avoid?
Plug the USB-C end into the host port and the USB-B end into the peripheral; the USB-C connector is reversible, but the USB-B connector inserts only one way.
What upkeep will this cable need over its lifetime?
No scheduled maintenance is required; inspect connectors for dust or bent pins and replace the cable if the jacket shows cuts or the connectors become loose.
What performance limit appears first during continuous high-speed transfers?
The 10 Gbps signalling rate and 3 A current rating are the fixed ceilings; sustained throughput cannot exceed the Gen2 10 Gbps specification.
