32 GB DDR4 RDIMM kit

This Micron kit supplies 32 GB of DDR4 memory in two 16 GB registered DIMMs rated at 2666 MHz. It is built for desktop or workstation boards that accept registered modules and need the PC4-21300 data rate.

Registered modules for stability

Registered buffering places a register between the memory controller and the DRAM chips, reducing electrical load on the memory bus. This allows the system to run larger capacities more reliably than with unbuffered DIMMs.

Simple slot installation

Align the notch on each RDIMM with the slot key, press down until the retention clips click, and confirm the new capacity in the system firmware. Registered DIMMs will not function in motherboards that only support unbuffered memory, so verify platform compatibility before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the registered DDR4 RDIMM modules need any firmware updates or periodic replacement?

Registered DDR4 RDIMM modules are solid-state components with no moving parts and do not require firmware updates or scheduled replacement under normal operation.

What limit appears first when the 2666 MHz kit runs sustained workloads?

The memory controller enforces the 2666 MHz PC4-21300 specification, so sustained throughput cannot exceed that rated bandwidth.

How much heat and power do the 1.2 V DDR4 sticks produce during all-day use?

Each module operates at 1.2 volts, delivering up to 40 % less power draw than previous DDR generations while generating minimal heat in typical server workloads.
