32GB DDR4 RDIMM kit

This Micron kit provides 32GB of DDR4 memory in a two-module registered DIMM configuration rated at 2666MHz PC4-21300. It is built for systems that require registered memory and can operate at 1.2 volts for reduced power draw.

Suits registered-memory platforms only

The modules are registered RDIMMs, so they will only work in motherboards and laptops that explicitly support registered DDR4 memory. Builders using standard consumer desktop boards or laptops that accept only unbuffered UDIMMs should look at something else.

Simple slot installation

Installation follows the usual DIMM slot procedure: align the notch, press firmly until the retention clips engage, and verify the registered memory is detected in BIOS. The common issue is attempting to use these RDIMMs in a system that only accepts unbuffered memory, which prevents the system from posting.

Questions about this item

Does this 32GB 2x16GB DDR4 RDIMM kit require a motherboard that supports registered memory?

Yes, these are registered DIMMs (RDIMM) built for server platforms; a desktop consumer board that only accepts unbuffered UDIMMs will not work with them.

Can I mix these Micron 2666MHz RDIMM modules with the existing SODIMM memory in my Predator Helios 300 laptop?

No, the RDIMM form factor and registered signalling are physically and electrically different from the SODIMM slots used in those Helios 300 models.

After installation, how can I confirm the kit is running at the rated 2666MHz PC4-21300 speed?

Check the memory frequency in your BIOS or a system-information tool such as CPU-Z; it should report 2666MHz (PC4-21300) for each 16GB module.
