Surface Go Type Cover Black

The Microsoft KCM-00001 is a detachable keyboard accessory built for the Surface Go tablet. It adds a full mechanical keyset with backlighting and a glass trackpad, turning the device into a laptop-style workstation. The cover also shields the display when closed. Buyers who need a keyboard for a different tablet model cannot use this cover.

Mechanical keys and glass trackpad

Each key offers 1.0 mm travel with a moving mechanical action, giving consistent tactile feedback during long typing sessions. The full row of function keys F1-F12 and dedicated media controls reduce the need for on-screen menus. The extra-large glass trackpad maintains precise cursor control without the friction or wear seen on smaller plastic pads. Users who prefer a softer membrane feel or a smaller footprint will find this cover less suitable.

Magnetic attachment and adjustable angles

The cover connects to the Surface Go through a magnetic hinge that aligns instantly with the integrated kickstand. This allows the screen angle to be adjusted continuously for typing or folded back for tablet use. No Bluetooth pairing or separate charging is required because power and data pass through the physical connector. Buyers who want a wireless keyboard they can place at a distance from the screen cannot achieve that with this accessory.
