Surface Type Cover 2 keyboard

This Surface Type Cover 2 provides a full QWERTY layout with a dedicated function row, Windows shortcut keys, media controls and an integrated trackpad. Its super-thin mechanical construction keeps the profile slim while delivering a traditional laptop typing feel. The backlit keys allow work to continue in low-light environments. It is designed for Surface owners who want a familiar keyboard experience.

Refurbished mechanical cover with backlighting

The unit arrives in refurbished condition and retains the original lightweight, thin design. Illuminated keys are built in so the keyboard remains usable day or night without external lighting. The integrated trackpad supports cursor control and gestures, reducing the need for a separate mouse. Connectivity relies on the Surface magnetic connector, so no cables or wireless pairing are required.

Upgrade from a non-backlit or on-screen keyboard

This cover replaces a Type Cover without backlighting or an on-screen keyboard, adding physical keys and illumination for extended typing sessions. The jump is worth it when you regularly work in dim settings and prefer tactile feedback over glass. Buyers who need a numeric keypad or a separate pointing device will not find those features here.

Align the magnetic spine, let it snap into place, then pair the trackpad in Windows settings if the system does not detect it automatically.
