Alcantara Keyboard for Surface 3

This detachable Type Cover is built for the Surface 3 and uses a Canadian French key layout. The Alcantara material provides a soft surface for extended typing sessions. A magnetic attachment keeps the cover stable whether you are at a desk or working on your lap. It transforms the tablet into a compact laptop form factor.

Backlit Keys and Mechanical Clickpad

The keys are backlit for visibility in low-light conditions. A mechanical clickpad delivers tactile feedback for precise cursor control. No thermal, noise or power-draw specifications are provided by the supplier for this accessory. Normal use adds negligible load to the host device.

Magnetic Mount and Layout Constraints

The magnetic hinge allows quick attachment and removal without latches. The Canadian French layout suits bilingual environments but does not match standard US or UK arrangements. Buyers who need a different regional layout or a non-detachable keyboard should consider other options. No additional ports or connectors are included on the cover itself.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the Surface Go Type Cover and what alignment mistake should I avoid?

Line up the magnetic edge with the Surface 3 hinge; the magnets pull it into place. The common error is letting the cover sit crooked, which breaks the keyboard connection.

What part of the Alcantara Type Cover will wear first and need replacement?

The Alcantara fabric on the palm rest shows oils and abrasion before the mechanical clickpad or backlit keys degrade.

At what point does the backlit keyboard become hard to use during long sessions?

The backlight has fixed brightness steps; in a brightly lit room the lowest levels wash out, so you hit the visibility limit before battery drain becomes an issue.
