13.5" Touch Business Laptop

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 is a 13.5 inch touchscreen business laptop running Windows 11 Pro. It uses a quad-core Intel Core i5-1145G7 processor at 3.0 GHz with 12 MB L3 cache. The system includes 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB NVMe drive for fast storage.

Upgrade from older ultraportables

This model replaces earlier 13 inch ultraportables that lack touch input or modern connectivity. The jump is worth it when you need a high-resolution 2256 x 1504 display, integrated Iris X graphics, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 in a slim chassis. The 16 GB memory ceiling allows future expansion if workloads grow.

Suits mobile professionals.

It suits professionals who prioritise a light, touch-enabled device with a sharp screen and all-day battery for office applications. Buyers who need multiple USB ports, HDMI output, a backlit keyboard or discrete graphics should look at something else.

Questions about this item

What physical dimensions does the 13.5" chassis require for a sleeve or bag?

The 13.5" screen size defines the overall footprint; choose a sleeve or bag rated for 13.5" laptops to ensure the Matte Black chassis fits without pressure on the touchscreen.

How is Windows 11 Pro activated on this unit, and what step do buyers often miss?

Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed; the step buyers miss is connecting to WiFi 6 during the first boot so the digital licence binds to the hardware automatically.

Which components can be upgraded later when the 8 GB memory or 256 GB NVMe drive need more capacity?

Only the NVMe drive is replaceable; the 8 GB memory is soldered and cannot be increased beyond the 16 GB maximum supported by the board.
