The 13.5-inch Sage laptop for mobile work

This Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 ships new with Windows 11 Home and a 13.5-inch LCD touchscreen at 2256 x 1504 resolution. An Intel Core i5-1235U deca-core processor with 12 MB cache and 8 GB of LPDDR5X memory handles everyday productivity. Integrated Iris Xe graphics and a 512 GB SSD complete a compact package aimed at students and professionals who move between desks.

No internal upgrades beyond the factory fit

The memory is soldered to the board so the 8 GB configuration cannot be expanded later. The SSD is also not user-replaceable without specialist tools and will void the Microsoft seal if opened. Buyers who want more storage or a second drive must rely on external USB storage or cloud services instead of internal changes.

Battery life and display limits on the move

Microsoft quotes up to 17 hours of typical usage on a full charge, though real-world runtime drops with sustained workloads or high screen brightness. The 3:2 aspect ratio display offers more vertical space for documents but adds letterboxing when streaming 16:9 video. Integrated graphics limit 3D performance to light creative tasks and casual gaming only.
