Surface Laptop 5 13.5" i5-1235U

This 13.5 inch laptop runs on a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U with 10 cores and 12 MB cache. It ships with Windows 11 Home 64-bit, 8GB memory and a 512GB SSD. The 3:2 PixelSense touchscreen supports 10-point multi-touch and Dolby Vision IQ.

Suits mobile workers wanting a light.

The integrated Iris Xe graphics and 8GB RAM limit heavy creative workloads or gaming. Buyers who need discrete GPU power or more memory should look elsewhere. The Alcantara palm rest and aluminium chassis favour desk use over rugged environments.

2256 x 1504 touchscreen at 201 PPI

The 13.5 inch panel delivers 201 PPI with a 1300:1 contrast ratio and individual colour calibration covering sRGB and Vivid profiles. Gorilla Glass 3 protects the 10-point multi-touch surface. This resolution and pixel density define the visual experience.

Questions about this item

What physical dimensions and ports must my docking station match for the 13.5-inch Surface Laptop 5?

The 13.5-inch chassis uses a Surface Connect port for power and docks; verify your dock lists 13.5-inch compatibility and provides the 2256 x 1504 external-display bandwidth.

Which step do owners often miss when setting up Windows Hello face sign-in on this model?

After the initial PIN creation, you must run the infrared-camera enrolment in Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options; skipping it leaves only the PIN active.

When will the 512 GB SSD typically need replacement under heavy write workloads?

The integrated 512 GB drive has no user-replaceable slot; plan for professional service once SMART attributes show media-wear indicators approaching the rated endurance limit.
