Copilot+ PC for on-device AI

This Surface Laptop 7 is a 2-in-1 Copilot+ PC built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor with a 12-core design and an integrated NPU rated at up to 45 TOPS. The system ships with 16 GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1 TB SSD, running Windows 11 Home. It targets professionals and students who want local AI acceleration in a convertible form factor. Buyers who need discrete graphics or expandable memory should look elsewhere.

120 Hz touch display with 3:2 ratio

The 13.8-inch panel delivers a 2304 x 1536 resolution at 120 Hz with touch support and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Pixel density reaches 201 PPI and the screen covers both sRGB and Vivid colour gamuts. This combination makes the display suited to inking, document review and media consumption without requiring an external monitor. The fixed 16 GB memory and soldered storage mean the configuration cannot be upgraded after purchase.

39 W charger with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

A 39 W power supply is included in the box alongside Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. The 54 WHr battery is rated for up to 20 hours of local video playback or up to 13 hours of active web usage. Real-world endurance will vary with workload, brightness and network conditions. The single USB-C charging port limits simultaneous peripheral use while charging unless a dock or hub is added.

Questions about this item

Is the 16GB LPDDR5X memory soldered or can I upgrade it later?

The 16GB LPDDR5X memory is soldered to the mainboard and cannot be upgraded after purchase.

Does the Snapdragon X Elite 12-core processor throttle during long workloads?

Sustained performance depends on the cooling solution and the 39 Watt power supply; the 12-core chip will reduce clocks if thermals limit it.

How loud does the fan get when the 13.8" 120 Hz display and Adreno GPU run all day?

Fan noise varies with load; the 54 WHr battery and 39 Watt adapter limit peak heat, so the system stays relatively quiet during typical use.
