Snapdragon X2 Plus Copilot+ PC

This Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus processor with 32 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD. It ships with Windows 11 and is branded as a Copilot+ PC for on-device AI workloads. The 13.8 inch touchscreen uses a 2304 x 1536 PixelSense panel. The chassis weighs 4.3 lbs in Platinum finish.

Integrated memory and storage platform

The 32 GB of memory is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded after purchase. The 512 GB SSD provides the primary storage volume with no second drive bay mentioned in the specifications. Wi-Fi 7 handles wireless connectivity while the webcam supports video calls. Buyers who need user-replaceable memory or a second internal drive should look elsewhere.

Fanless efficiency in a thin chassis

The Snapdragon X2 Plus architecture enables passive cooling so the laptop runs silently during typical productivity tasks. Arm-based efficiency keeps power draw low for extended battery life away from a wall outlet. The 13.8 inch form factor distributes warmth across the aluminium body without active airflow. Heavy sustained workloads may trigger thermal throttling to protect the silicon.

Questions about this item

How long can the 32 GB memory handle sustained workloads before performance drops?

The 32 GB memory is soldered and not expandable, so sustained workloads are limited to the installed capacity with no upgrade path.

What fan noise or surface temperature should I expect from the Snapdragon X2 Plus during all-day use?

The Snapdragon X2 Plus runs fanless, so there is no fan noise and the chassis stays cool under typical all-day workloads.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the 13.8" PixelSense touchscreen and Wi-Fi 7?

The touchscreen works out of the box; Wi-Fi 7 requires a compatible Wi-Fi 7 router or access point to reach its rated speeds.
