Product Identity

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 EP2-59499 is a 13.8 inch business notebook with a 2304 x 1536 PixelSense Flow touchscreen running at 120 Hz. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite dodeca-core processor with integrated Adreno graphics and 16GB of LPDDR5x memory. The system includes a 512GB SSD and ships with Windows as a Copilot+ PC. Connectivity covers 802.11be wireless LAN and Bluetooth 5.4.

Suitability Profile

This laptop suits professionals who value a high-refresh touch display, long battery life rated at 20 hours, and modern Thunderbolt 4 ports for docks or external GPUs. Buyers who need more than one USB-A port, discrete graphics performance, or the ability to upgrade memory or storage after purchase should consider other form factors.

Deciding Specification

The 16GB LPDDR5x memory is soldered and cannot be increased later, so the single figure that determines fit is the 16GB capacity. If your workload regularly exceeds that limit, this model will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 120 Hz PixelSense Flow touchscreen is running at its full refresh rate after setup?

Open Windows Settings, choose System then Display, select Advanced display and verify the refresh-rate dropdown shows 120 Hz for the built-in 2304 x 1536 panel.

What comes in the box with the EP2-59499 and what must I purchase separately for wired networking or legacy USB-A peripherals?

The box includes the laptop and its power adapter; a USB-C to Ethernet dongle or a USB-A hub must be bought separately because the chassis only provides one USB-A port and two Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Which configuration should I choose if I need the 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite with 16 GB LPDDR5x and 512 GB storage in Black?

The EP2-59499 model listed here is the exact match — 12-core processor, 16 GB LPDDR5x memory, 512 GB SSD and Black finish are all specified for this SKU.
