Surface Laptop 8 15" Copilot+ PC

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 EP2-60140 is a 15-inch touchscreen notebook built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite processor. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes a 1 TB solid-state drive alongside 16 GB of memory. The Platinum chassis weighs 5.5 lbs and targets professionals who want a large PixelSense display and on-device AI features in a single portable device.

Setup and common issues

The laptop arrives fully assembled with the operating system pre-installed, so no internal hardware installation is required. Initial configuration follows the standard Windows 11 out-of-box experience, including network connection and account setup. The main friction point can be driver or application compatibility for software that has not yet been updated for the ARM-based Snapdragon architecture.

Capacity and headroom

The 1 TB SSD provides ample space for the operating system, applications and large project files, while the 16 GB of unified memory handles multitasking across typical productivity workloads. Very large local datasets, heavy virtual-machine fleets or extended offline media libraries will eventually exhaust the fixed storage and memory ceiling, since neither component is user-upgradable after purchase.
