Who this serves

The Microsoft Surface Pro 12 EP2-54668 is a 13.0" PixelSense touch tablet running Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core Ultra 5 335 with 16GB DDR5 and a 256GB SSD. It targets mobile professionals who need a detachable form factor, pen input and the full Windows desktop stack in a 31.57 ounce platinum chassis. Buyers who want more storage or a discrete GPU should look elsewhere.

Sustained workload behaviour

The Intel Core Ultra 5 335 pairs with Intel Graphics and 16GB DDR5 to handle office suites, browser-heavy research and light creative tasks without throttling in the fanless 0.4" profile. Thermal limits will appear during extended video export or heavy compile jobs, so plan workflows around shorter bursts rather than all-day render queues. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 keep wireless throughput stable during long sessions.

Build and daily connectivity

Two USB4 ports support Thunderbolt 4, DisplayPort 2.1 Alt Mode, charging, data and video through a single cable each, while the SurfaceConnect port and Surface Keyboard connector cover dock and typing needs. The 11.3x8.2" footprint fits airline tray tables and small desks, and the 5 megapixel webcam handles video calls without extra peripherals.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Intel Core Ultra 5 335 get when the Surface Pro 12 runs all day?

The tablet weighs 31.57 ounce and measures 11.3x8.2x0.4 inches, so its fanless design stays silent while the Intel Core Ultra 5 335 manages heat across the 13.0" PixelSense Display chassis.

What must I already own to use the 2 x USB4 ports that support Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort 2.1 Alt Mode?

You need USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 cables and any DisplayPort 2.1 monitors or docks you want to drive for charging, data and video from the two ports.

Will my older Surface Keyboard and SurfaceConnect accessories still work with this EP2-54668 model?

Yes, the spec lists both Surface Keyboard and SurfaceConnect alongside the 2 x USB4 ports, so existing Type Covers and Surface docks remain compatible.
