2-in-1 Laptop for Business and Content Creation

The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 is a detachable 2-in-1 laptop built for business, work and content creation. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i7-1185G7 quad-core processor with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD. The 13.0-inch PixelSense Flow display offers 10-point multi-touch input and a 3:2 aspect ratio.

Suits Mobile Professionals Not High-End Gaming

This device suits professionals who need a lightweight, detachable form factor with enterprise security features such as a TPM 2.0 chip and Windows Hello face sign-in. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance for demanding 3D rendering or high-frame-rate gaming should look at a different class of machine.

120 Hz PixelSense Flow Display Decides Fit

The 13.0-inch PixelSense Flow panel runs at 2880 x 1920 resolution with a 267 PPI density and supports up to a 120 Hz refresh rate at 60 Hz default. If your workflow benefits from high-refresh inking and touch response on a 3:2 screen, this display specification makes the unit the right choice.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the Type Cover to the detachable 13.0" chassis and which orientation step do people get wrong?

Align the magnetic connector strip along the bottom edge of the tablet with the cover's top edge; the cover only locks when the keys face the screen, not when folded behind.

What component will need replacement first on the 512GB storage and 16GB memory configuration?

The battery is the only user-replaceable consumable; the soldered 16GB memory and integrated 512GB SSD are not designed for later replacement.

At what point does the 120Hz PixelSense Flow Display drop its refresh rate during sustained workloads?

The display defaults to 60Hz and only reaches 120Hz when content and thermals allow; sustained heavy loads typically keep it at the default 60Hz.
