Professional mobile workstation

The Surface Pro 9 is a 13.0 inch Windows 11 Pro tablet built around an Intel Core i7-1265U processor running at 1.8 GHz with 32GB of memory and 1TB of flash storage. It targets professionals who need full desktop applications in a device that weighs under two pounds. The 2880 x 1920 LCD touchscreen supports precise pen input for annotation and design review.

Docked or handheld flexibility

A single USB-C port handles power, external displays and peripherals, so a compact hub replaces a traditional docking station. The tablet’s 11.3 by 8.2 by 0.4 inch footprint leaves desk space free for reference material or a second screen. LTE is not included, so cloud-based workflows rely on WiFi 1 or a phone hotspot when away from trusted networks.

Silent passively cooled operation

The low-power processor and fanless chassis keep the system completely silent during typical office workloads. Battery life reaches 15.5 hours in manufacturer testing, supporting a full day of meetings without the charger. The lithium-ion cell recharges through the same USB-C connection used for accessories.

Questions about this item

How does the 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7-1265U handle sustained workloads without active cooling?

The fanless design relies on thermal throttling to manage heat, so the deca-core processor will reduce speeds during prolonged heavy tasks to stay within safe temperatures.

What are the typical noise and heat levels when the tablet runs all day on battery?

With no internal fan the device stays silent, though the magnesium chassis can become warm to the touch during extended high-load sessions.

Which accessories are required to use the 13-inch touchscreen as a full laptop replacement?

A Surface Pro Signature Keyboard and Surface Slim Pen 2 are sold separately and are needed for comfortable typing and inking on the 2880 x 1920 display.
