Flexible Keyboard and Pen Bundle

The Surface Pro Flex Keyboard with Slim Pen bundle is a genuine Microsoft accessory for Surface Pro 8 and 9 devices running Windows 11. It functions as a traditional attached cover or as a detached standalone keyboard. The Slim Pen stores and recharges wirelessly while secured on the keyboard. A dedicated Copilot key provides quick access to AI features.

Wireless Range and Security

The keyboard connects wirelessly at distances up to 32.8 feet (10 meters) using 128-bit encryption technology to protect data transmission. The Slim Pen includes a built-in haptic motor designed to make digital inking feel more natural. A sharper pen tip delivers precise and accurate strokes. The keyboard features a new wider haptic touchpad for responsive navigation.

Detached Usage Capability

The defining specification is the ability to operate the keyboard while physically detached from the tablet. This allows flexible positioning for typing or drawing at a distance. Buyers who require a strictly attached folio-style cover without wireless functionality should consider a different accessory. Compatibility is limited to Surface Pro 8 and 9 models.

Questions about this item

How do I pair the keyboard so it works detached, and what step do people miss?

Pair it via Bluetooth in Windows 11, then keep the keyboard within 10 metres; the step often missed is confirming the 128-bit encryption prompt that appears during the first connection.

What part of the Slim Pen will need replacement first, and how is it serviced?

The pen tip wears down with heavy inking; a spare tip is included in the box and can be swapped by pulling the old one out and pressing the new one in until it clicks.

What limit appears first during a long detached session?

The 10-metre wireless range is the first constraint; beyond that distance the keyboard and pen lose their encrypted link to the Surface Pro 8 or 9.
