462 MHz Ghost Antenna for Midland MicroMobile

The Midland MXTA25 Ghost Antenna is a 3.5 inch tall, low-profile whip built for 462 MHz GMRS radios. Its 1.5 inch base diameter and NMO mount keep the installation clean on any vehicle roof. The antenna targets owners of compatible MicroMobile transceivers who want a discreet, high-performance upgrade.

NMO mount limits placement to permanent roof

The NMO connection requires a drilled hole or magnetic base kit not included here, so temporary or glass-mount setups are not possible. The 3 dB gain pattern favours line-of-sight paths; dense foliage or deep urban canyons will still attenuate the signal despite the gain figure. No cable or connector hardware ships with this antenna alone.

3 dB gain at 462 MHz decides if range meets your

The single specification that determines suitability is the 3 dB gain on the 462 MHz band, which extends usable range over unity-gain whips without adding significant height. Buyers who need maximum ERP for remote back-country trails will find this gain insufficient and should consider higher-gain alternatives. The antenna fits Midland MXT105, MXT115, MXT275, MXT400, MXT500 and MXT575 models only.

Questions about this item

Which Midland MicroMobile models does the MXTA25 Ghost Antenna support?

The antenna connects to the MXT105, MXT115, MXT275, MXT400, MXT500 and MXT575 radios via the NMO mount.

What does the 3 dB gain deliver on a 462 MHz radio in daily use?

It focuses the signal pattern to extend usable range over a unity-gain whip while keeping the antenna only 3.5 inches tall.

How does the NMO connection limit installation options?

The NMO base requires a 1.5 inch diameter mounting hole or bracket, so the antenna fits standard vehicle roof or trunk-lid mounts.
