A lock nut with an external tooth lock washer resists loosening under vibration and torque
This external tooth lock washer lock nut is designed to resist loosening caused by vibration and torque. The integrated toothed washer bites into the mating surface for a secure hold. It suits automotive, industrial and general mechanical assemblies where a 3/8"-16 thread is required. Builders needing a different thread pitch or a non-locking nut should look elsewhere.
The nut body is made from steel and features an external tooth lock washer formed into the flange. This single-piece design eliminates the need for a separate flat washer and lock washer stack. The teeth engage the joint face during tightening to maintain clamp load. Installations requiring a smooth bearing surface or a nylon insert lock nut will not match this profile.
Each unit is sold as a single lock nut without additional components, lubricant or installation tools. The part arrives ready for use with standard 3/8"-16 bolts or studs. Projects requiring bulk quantities, assortment kits or pre-applied thread sealant will need supplementary sourcing.

The nut uses a Unified National Coarse 3/8"-16 thread, so it mates with any standard 3/8"-16 bolt or stud.
A standard 3/8"-16 hex nut takes a 9/16 inch wrench or socket across the flats.
Place the nut so the toothed washer face sits against the bearing surface; the teeth dig in when you tighten the nut.
