Product identity

This four-pack of round wire lock pins from Midwest Fastener Corp carries part number 36462 and is sold new for general hardware use. It suits maintenance technicians, automotive hobbyists and assembly workers who need quick-release fastening in non-critical joints.

Practical limits of the standard

The pins rely on a spring-loaded ball detent that holds under light shear and vibration but is not rated for structural loads or safety-critical connections. Users must verify that the 3/8 inch diameter and 1-3/4 inch grip length match the hole pattern and material thickness of their specific application.

Build quality and daily implications

Each pin is formed from a single wire loop with a machined body, giving a smooth insertion feel and resistance to snagging on surrounding parts. The four-piece pack lets operators keep spares at each work station so a lost or bent pin does not halt a repair or assembly job.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the four-pack or look for a different quantity?

The listing is for a single four-pack of round wire lock pins, so you receive exactly four pieces per order.

What does the 3/8" x 1-3/4" size mean when I install these pins?

Each pin has a 3/8-inch diameter shaft and a 1-3/4-inch usable length, so it fits holes of that diameter and spans that distance when locked in place.

How does the round wire lock design affect the holding strength?

The spring-tempered wire loop snaps over the pin end to create a positive mechanical lock that resists vibration and accidental release.
