Product identity

MIDWEST FASTENER CORP 61152 supplies twelve 1/2 inch zinc plated steel washer cap push nuts in a single pack. The fasteners use inward facing flanges that grip a shaft when pushed or lightly tapped into position.

Who it suits

Mechanics and DIY users who need quick, permanent retention on half inch rods or studs will find these push nuts convenient. Builders requiring adjustable or reusable threaded fasteners should look at a different solution.

Build integration

Each nut slides onto the shaft without tools and locks in place, freeing assembly time otherwise spent threading hardware. Removal requires cutting the nut off so the joint must be planned as a permanent connection.

Questions about this item

What shaft diameter do I need for the 1/2" push nuts to grip?

The push nuts are sized for a 1/2" shaft; the inward-facing flanges bite onto that diameter when pressed on.

Can I use these zinc-plated steel push nuts on an older mild-steel axle without galvanic corrosion?

Zinc plating on steel is compatible with plain steel axles; the similar base metal minimises galvanic risk in typical automotive use.

How can I confirm the 12 push nuts are seated correctly after installation?

Each nut should sit flush against the washer face with the flanges fully engaged; a gentle tug will show they resist pull-off.
