Steel tubular rivets with a truss head reduce installation force by rolling outward at the tip
These steel tubular rivets feature a truss head and a 1/8 inch diameter with a 7/16 inch length. They are designed for general fastening tasks where a lower installation force is beneficial. The tubular tip rolls outward during application to secure the joint. Suitable for automotive, repair and light fabrication work.
Unlike solid rivets, the tubular design requires less force to set because the hollow tip rolls outward instead of deforming a solid shank. This makes installation easier with hand tools or light presses. The jump is worth it when access is limited or when repeated setting causes operator fatigue. Not for buyers who need the maximum shear strength of a solid shank.
Once set, the rolled tubular walls clamp the materials together with consistent pressure. The steel construction resists loosening under vibration better than many temporary fasteners. The truss head distributes load across a wider surface to reduce pull-through. Not for applications requiring a sealed or water-tight joint.

Use a 1/8 in drill bit to match the rivet diameter so the tubular shank fits cleanly through the material.
Insert the rivet, place a rivet setter or hammer against the hollow tip, and roll the tubular walls outward until the head clamps the joint.
Inspect for elongated holes or loose heads after heavy vibration cycles and replace any rivet that no longer clamps tightly.
