Product identity

MIDWEST FASTENER CORP 62543 Wing Nut is a #10-24 nylon fastener sold in a 15-piece pack. It is for DIYers, maintenance technicians and hobbyists who need tool-free tightening on light-duty assemblies. Buyers who require metal threads for high-stress or high-temperature joints should look elsewhere.

Installation experience

The extended wings allow easy turning by hand so no spanner or driver is needed. Nylon material reduces the risk of cross-threading but can strip if over-tightened; hand pressure is usually sufficient. Ensure the mating thread is clean and matches the #10-24 pitch to avoid binding.

Sustained-load behaviour

Nylon resists corrosion and vibration loosening better than plain steel in damp environments. Under constant tension the material may creep over time so periodic re-checking is advisable. The wing nut is designed for frequent adjustment rather than permanent structural clamping.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the nylon wing nuts grip correctly after hand-tightening on a #10-24 bolt?

Turn each wing nut by hand until the wings are snug against the mating surface; the nylon threads should resist loosening under vibration, and the 15-count pack lets you test several joints.

What comes in the 62543 package and what must I supply separately?

The box contains 15 nylon wing nuts sized #10-24; you must provide matching #10-24 bolts or threaded rods and any washers the application requires.

Which wing nut version should I choose for a #10-24 thread requirement?

Select the 62543 model — it is the only version listed with a #10-24 thread pitch and nylon construction in a 15-piece pack.
