Push-Nut Fastening Principle

These push nuts replace threaded fasteners with inward-facing flanges that grip a shaft when pressed or lightly tapped into position. The design suits maintenance tasks where speed matters and threading is impractical. They are sold as a six-piece pack for automotive and general hardware use.

Removal Requires Cutting

Once seated the flanges resist backward motion so the nut cannot be unscrewed; deliberate cutting is the only way to release it. This makes the hardware unsuitable for assemblies that need regular disassembly or adjustment. Plan the joint as permanent before installation.

Zinc-Plated Steel Construction

The steel body carries a zinc coating that provides baseline corrosion resistance for under-hood and exterior exposure. Each nut measures three-quarters of an inch across the washer face, giving a broad bearing surface that distributes load on thin sheet metal or plastic panels.

Questions about this item

Which pack size should I choose for this MIDWEST FASTENER push nut?

The product is supplied as a single 6-piece pack, so that is the only quantity option available.

How does the push-nut design work once installed on a stud?

Inward-facing flanges act like teeth that grip the shaft when pushed or lightly tapped on, holding the nut in place without threads.

What does the zinc-plated steel construction mean for corrosion resistance?

The zinc plating provides a protective layer that resists rust on the steel body during normal indoor or sheltered outdoor use.
