Three fine-thread castle hex nuts with zinc-plated steel construction for secure fastening with cotter pins
This pack contains three 3/4"-16 fine-thread castle hex nuts made from zinc-plated steel. They are designed for fastening on bolts or axles that have a drilled hole for a cotter pin or safety wire. The slotted top allows the nut to be rotated to the nearest slot after torquing for secure locking. Mechanics and fabricators needing reliable locking fasteners will use these.
As passive metal fasteners, these nuts generate no heat, produce no noise and draw no electrical power during installation or operation. Performance depends entirely on correct torque application and the integrity of the mating bolt or axle. The zinc plating provides corrosion resistance for extended service life in typical automotive and industrial environments.
Each nut requires a 3/4"-16 fine-thread bolt or stud with a drilled cross-hole at the threaded end. A cotter pin or safety wire (not included) is necessary to lock the nut in the aligned slot. The 3-pack supplies enough hardware for a single axle or multiple connection points. Builders without drilled fasteners or locking pins cannot use these nuts as intended.

Torque the nut to specification, then rotate it forward to the nearest slot that lines up with the drilled hole in the bolt or axle, and secure it with a cotter pin or safety wire.
Replace the cotter pin any time the nut is removed or if the pin shows bending, corrosion or wear, because the pin is a single-use locking device.
The locking depends entirely on the cotter pin or safety wire engaging the slotted end; if the pin shears or works loose, the nut can back off.
