Product Identity

This pack contains two zinc plated steel castle hex nuts with a 7/8"-14 fine thread pitch. They suit mechanics and engineers who need positive locking on drilled bolts or axles in automotive and industrial assemblies.

Build and Connectors

The slotted design allows a cotter pin or safety wire to pass through the nut and the fastener hole, preventing rotation under vibration. Zinc plating provides corrosion resistance for exposed hardware in harsh environments.

Compatibility Check

Verify that the mating bolt or axle uses a 7/8"-14 fine thread and has a drilled hole aligned with the nut slots. Confirm the application requires a castle nut rather than a standard hex or nylon lock nut.

Questions about this item

What thread standard does the 7/8"-14 fine thread follow?

The nuts use a 7/8"-14 unified fine thread pitch for precise adjustment on matching bolts or axles.

What hardware is required to secure the slotted end after torquing?

A cotter pin or safety wire fits through the aligned slot and the drilled hole in the fastener.

How do you align the castle slots when the hole doesn't match the torque position?

Rotate the nut forward to the nearest slot — never backward — then insert the cotter pin or safety wire.
