1/2"-13 Grade 8 Lock Nuts

This pack contains eight steel lock nuts with a 1/2"-13 thread pitch and a Grade 8 strength rating. The yellow zinc finish provides corrosion resistance for automotive and industrial applications. They suit mechanics and maintenance teams needing reliable fasteners for high-stress joints.

Flange design eases installation

Each nut features an integrated flange that acts as a built-in washer, spreading clamp load across the mating surface. This reduces the risk of surface damage and helps prevent loosening on uneven faces. No separate flat washer is required, saving assembly time.

Grade 8 strength rating

The Grade 8 classification confirms the nut meets high tensile strength requirements for demanding structural connections. Buyers who need a lower strength class or a different thread size should select another product.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the lock nut is working as intended after installation?

The nut should resist loosening when the assembly vibrates and the flange should sit flat against the secured part without spinning.

What is included in the 8 PK and what must be purchased separately?

The pack contains eight 1/2"-13 Grade 8 steel lock nuts with yellow zinc finish; matching bolts or studs are not included.

Which version of the 71661 should I choose for a 1/2"-13 thread requirement?

The 71661 is offered in a single 1/2"-13 Grade 8 yellow zinc configuration, so no alternative version exists for that thread size.
