5/16"-18 Wing Nut Pack

This pack contains ten zinc-plated steel wing nuts with 5/16"-18 threads. They are designed for fastening tasks that need frequent hand tightening and loosening. The wing shape lets you turn each nut without using a wrench or screwdriver. The hardware suits automotive, workshop and general assembly jobs.

Capacity and headroom

The ten-piece quantity covers multiple connection points on a single project or provides spares for later use. Zinc plating protects the steel against surface corrosion in typical indoor and outdoor conditions. The thread pitch handles standard clamping loads for this diameter. Extremely high-vibration or structural loads may require a different locking method.

Practical limits of hand tightening

Hand torque is limited by grip strength and wing leverage, so these nuts are not suited for joints that need precise preload or high clamping force. Repeated removal in gritty environments can wear the threads faster than machine-driven hex nuts. They are not intended for permanent installations where tools are preferred for final torque.

Questions about this item

Will the 5/16"-18 thread match the bolts I already have?

Yes, the 5/16"-18 thread pitch is standard; it fits any bolt or stud with the same diameter and thread count.

How can I confirm the zinc plating is intact after installation?

Inspect each wing nut for a uniform silver-grey finish with no bare steel showing; the plating should cover threads and wings completely.

Does the 10-pack include washers or only the wing nuts?

The pack contains ten wing nuts only; flat or lock washers must be purchased separately if your application requires them.
