MIDWEST FASTENER CORP 74305 Nylon Insert Lock Nut 7/16"-14 Steel Chrome Plated

Lock nut with nylon insert

The MIDWEST FASTENER CORP 74305 is a steel lock nut featuring a nylon insert that resists loosening caused by vibration and torque. Its 7/16"-14 thread pitch suits automotive and general hardware assemblies where a secure fastening is required. The chrome-plated finish adds corrosion resistance for extended service life.

Verify thread and clearance

Confirm that the mating bolt or stud uses a 7/16"-14 thread before ordering. Ensure the application provides enough space for the nut height and that the chrome-plated steel material is compatible with the surrounding components and environment.

Vibration resistance over time

Under sustained vibration the nylon insert maintains prevailing torque, keeping the joint tight without the need for secondary locking devices. The steel body handles continuous clamping loads while the chrome plating protects against rust during prolonged exposure.
