Compact 5 GHz outdoor radio with integrated antenna

The Mikrotik SXTsq 5 ac is a compact outdoor wireless unit that combines a 16 dBi antenna with an 802.11ac radio in a slim enclosure. It is designed for point-to-point links or as a CPE device in 5 GHz networks. The integrated design reduces mounting complexity for installers and integrators.

Check power and cabling before ordering

The unit requires passive PoE with an input voltage of 10-28 V and provides a single 10/100/1000 Mbit Ethernet port for data and power. Verify that your PoE injector or switch supports the required voltage range and that the Ethernet cable run meets the distance limits for gigabit operation. Ensure a clear line of sight for the 5 GHz signal path.

Fits pole or wall mounts

The radio measures 129 x 129 x 34 mm and includes 256 MB RAM and 16 MB storage for RouterOS. Its two-chain 5 GHz radio handles both transmit and receive duties in one box, removing the need for a separate antenna and pigtail cables. Mounting hardware is required to secure the unit to a mast or wall.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately to mount and power the SXTsq 5 ac?

The unit ships with the integrated 16 dBi antenna and a 10/100/1000 Mbit Ethernet port. You need to supply a passive PoE injector (10–28 V) and mounting hardware for a pole or wall.

Which version should I choose for a 5 GHz point-to-point link — are there different antenna gains or radio chains?

This model has a fixed 16 dBi dual-chain 5 GHz 802.11a/n/ac radio and one Gigabit port; there are no alternative gain or chain options in this SKU.

What real throughput can I expect from the 16 dBi 2×2 802.11ac radio over a clear line-of-sight link?

With two spatial streams and a 16 dBi antenna, the link typically reaches several hundred Mbit/s TCP, limited by the single Gigabit Ethernet port.
