Allows Canon EF lenses to mount on Sony E-mount cameras with a basic mechanical adapter
The Mimo Tech KF06.069 allows Canon EOS EF mount lenses to attach securely to Sony E mount camera bodies. It is built for photographers who want to use existing EF glass on a mirrorless system without electronic communication.
This basic adapter relies on a purely mechanical connection, so aperture and focus remain under manual control. There are no electronic pins to draw power or transmit data, keeping operation silent and power draw non-existent during normal shooting.
It upgrades a Sony E camera to accept the wide range of Canon EF lenses already owned. The jump is worth it when manual focus and stopped-down metering are acceptable, but it cannot support autofocus, electronic aperture control or EXIF data transfer.

Align the red dot on the lens with the adapter's red index, twist clockwise until it clicks, then mount the adapter to the Sony E body using its own locking pin. The step people miss is securing the lens to the adapter first, otherwise the electronic contacts will not engage.
This is a basic mechanical adapter with no electronic contacts, so aperture must be set manually if the lens has an aperture ring, otherwise it stays wide open. Autofocus motors receive no signals and will not function, so no motor wear occurs from adapter use.
The adapter's aluminium-alloy barrel and single locking pin on the Sony E side are the first points to show flex or play under sustained cantilever load from a heavy lens, potentially affecting infinity focus accuracy over time.
