Vacuum wine stoppers, two-piece set

This two-piece set uses a manual pump built into each stopper to remove air from opened bottles. A date dial on the cap lets you track when the bottle was sealed. The stoppers are made from BPA-free ABS and food-grade silicone.

For casual wine drinkers; not for sparkling wine

The stoppers fit standard cork-finished red and white wine bottles. They do not seal screw-cap, champagne or sparkling wine bottles. Buyers who need to preserve carbonated wines should look at a different closure system.

Keeps wine fresh for up to 15 days

The vacuum seal slows oxidation so an opened bottle stays drinkable for up to 15 days when stored upright. Laying the bottle on its side or upside down can let liquid enter the suction hole and break the seal.

Questions about this item

Does the HS-002 set include the bottles, or do I supply my own standard cork-finished wine bottles?

You supply the bottles; the stoppers fit most standard wine bottles that use wooden corks, such as red or white wine, and are not designed for screw-top, champagne or sparkling bottles.

Can I store a sealed bottle on its side in a rack alongside older corks that need horizontal storage?

No — the vacuum stopper has a suction hole, so the bottle must stay vertical or slightly tilted; laying it flat or upside down lets liquid enter the hole and breaks the seal.

How do I know the vacuum seal on the HS-002 is holding after I pump it?

Pump the cap until it stops rising within about 1 cm; that indicates a vacuum seal has formed and the wine can stay fresh for up to 15 days.
