Purpose and compatibility

The MINUTEMAN EV-NETCARD-1G is an expansion card that adds network management to compatible Minuteman UPS units. It is intended for administrators who need remote monitoring and control of power infrastructure through standard management tools.

Enhanced security features

The card includes enhanced security capabilities that protect management traffic and authentication. These functions change how the UPS integrates into existing network policies and help meet organisational compliance requirements without additional software.

Installation and common issues

The card installs into the UPS expansion slot and connects via standard network cabling. Configuration requires access to the UPS management interface and correct IP settings. Problems usually arise from mismatched network parameters or firmware version differences between the card and the UPS.

Questions about this item

Will the EV-NETCARD-1G need firmware updates or battery replacement over time?

The card itself has no battery and no user-serviceable parts. Firmware updates are released by Minuteman and applied through the management interface when available.

What limits throughput first when the EV-NETCARD-1G monitors the UPS continuously?

The 1 Gbit network link and the UPS internal polling rate set the practical ceiling for data refresh speed.

Does the EV-NETCARD-1G add measurable heat or power draw to the UPS during all-day operation?

The card draws only milliwatts from the UPS slot and runs passively cooled, so its thermal contribution is negligible.
