SKU CH-ATMD-BM46J

depth 1U barebone with Celeron J4125, dual LAN and hardware RAID for two 2.5 or 3.5 drives

  • ProcessorCeleron J4125
  • Quad-core Celeron J4125 handles virtualised workloads
  • Hardware RAID 0, 1, 10 protects data on two drives
  • Dual Gigabit LAN ensures redundant network paths
  • Short 9.8" depth fits shallow racks
  • Reversible I/O allows front or rear cable access

Compact 1U server for light workloads

This barebone unit fits a 1U rack slot and uses an Intel Celeron J4125 quad core processor. It targets users who need a shallow-depth box for basic virtualised storage or edge tasks. Dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN and two serial COM ports support simple network and legacy connectivity.

Sustained load on the J4125 quad core

The four cores handle continuous light compute without turbo bursts, so throughput stays steady during long file-serving or backup jobs. Hardware RAID 0, 1 or 10 from the Marvell 88SE9230 controller keeps drive arrays consistent under prolonged write streams. Memory caps at 8 GB DDR4 SODIMM, limiting concurrent VM density.

Thermals, noise and power in normal use

The 9.8 inch deep chassis leaves room for airflow across the low-power CPU and two 2.5 or 3.5 inch drives. Passive CPU cooling and a single system fan keep acoustic output low in a typical rack row. Reversible I/O lets you route cables to the cool aisle, helping maintain stable intake temperatures.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the Celeron J4125 generate inside the 1.75-inch 1U chassis during all-day operation?

The J4125 is a 10-watt quad-core processor, so thermal output stays low in the compact 1U enclosure.

Which drives and memory must I supply to complete the barebones unit?

You add up to 8 GB of DDR4 SODIMM plus two 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drives and an optional M.2 SATA drive.

Will the Marvell 88SE9230 RAID controller work with older SATA drives I already own?

Yes, the 88SE9230 supports standard SATA drives in RAID 0, 1 or 10 regardless of drive age.
