Protection for noisy workplaces

These Moldex 6820 ear plugs provide a Noise Reduction Rating of 30 dB for people who need disposable hearing protection. The bullet-shaped foam plugs fit a universal size and come in a high-visibility orange colour. They are sold as 200 pairs in a bulk box with each pair sealed in a plastic bag.

Comfort and attenuation in use

The polyurethane foam expands after a roll-down insertion to seal the ear canal and deliver the rated 30 dB attenuation. Because the plugs are uncorded and disposable, there is no cable to catch on equipment and no cleaning required between shifts. The lightweight foam creates minimal pressure during extended wear.

Bulk packaging for daily rotation

The box contains 200 individually bagged pairs so workers can take a fresh set each day without handling loose plugs. This packaging supports hygiene compliance in environments that mandate single-use protection. The product meets the ANSI S 3.19 -1974 standard and is not metal detectable.

Questions about this item

How do I install these roll-down foam plugs so the 30 dB rating is achieved?

Roll the bullet-shaped plug between thumb and forefinger into a thin cylinder, pull the ear up and back, insert deeply, then hold in place until the foam fully expands to seal the canal.

When do the Mellows 6820 plugs need replacement?

Replace each pair once the foam no longer springs back after rolling, or if it becomes soiled, damaged or loses its hi-vis orange colour.

What limits continuous protection during a full shift?

The ANSI S3.19-1974 rating assumes a proper fit; protection drops first if the seal breaks from jaw movement, perspiration or an incomplete roll-down insertion.
