Select Series Multiport Adapter 115759

The Monoprice Select Series Multiport Adapter 115759 adds a DVI video output, a USB 3.0 Type-A port and a USB-C power pass-through port to a single USB-C connection. It supports mirror or extended desktop modes at resolutions up to 1920x1080p at 60Hz. The adapter draws power from the host port and passes up to 60 watts through its USB-C charging port.

Users needing DVI video

This adapter suits laptops or tablets with a USB-C port that need to drive a DVI monitor while keeping a USB-A peripheral connected. It also lets you charge the host device at the same time. Buyers whose displays only offer HDMI or DisplayPort inputs cannot use the DVI output. Users requiring more than one additional video output or faster than 5Gbps data speeds should look at a different dock.

Bundled ports change daily workflow

The USB-C power port accepts your original charger and delivers up to 20V/3A pass-through so the laptop battery charges while the adapter is in use. The USB 3.0 Type-A port provides 5Gbps bandwidth for external drives, phone syncing or other peripherals. The single DVI connector handles both mirror and extended desktop modes without needing extra cables or drivers.

Questions about this item

Does my laptop need a USB-C port that carries video and power to use the 115759 adapter?

Yes, the host USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode for 1080p video and Power Delivery for up to 60 watts of pass-through charging.

Will a legacy DVI monitor running at 1920x1080 @60Hz work without scaling issues?

The DVI output is specified for 1920x1080p at 60Hz, so a monitor at that native resolution will display pixel-for-pixel without scaling.

How can I verify the USB 3.0 port is delivering 5Gbps after I plug in a drive?

Transfer a large file and confirm the sustained read/write speed approaches 5Gbps, or check the link speed in your OS device manager.
