Direct USB-C to HDMI 2.1 link

This active cable connects a USB-C source directly to an HDMI 2.1 display without separate adapters. It suits professionals driving 8K workstations, gamers targeting 4K high-refresh panels, and home-theatre users who want a single 10-foot run.

Check host port and display capability

Verify the USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode for video output; data-only ports will not work. Confirm the monitor or TV accepts 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 120 Hz over its HDMI 2.1 input to use the cable’s full bandwidth.

Active chipset keeps signal stable

The built-in active electronics maintain reliable 8K60 and 4K120 transmission across the full length. Dynamic HDR, VRR and ALLM pass through without extra power draw, so thermals and noise stay negligible in normal use.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Monoprice 147797 cable and do I need a separate adapter?

The box contains the 10ft USB-C to HDMI 2.1 active cable with connectors on both ends. No separate adapter is required because the cable plugs directly from a USB-C video source into an HDMI 2.1 display.

Should I choose this 10ft version or a different length for 8K at 60Hz?

This 10ft active cable is specified for 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz. If your source and display are farther apart, a longer active cable would be needed; for shorter runs a passive cable may suffice, but only this length is described here.

What does the 8K 60Hz rating mean when I plug it into my laptop and monitor?

It means the cable can carry an 8K resolution signal at 60 frames per second, or a 4K signal at 120 frames per second, provided both the USB-C source and the HDMI 2.1 display support those modes.
