Expandable Media Box with Duplex Receptacle

This expandable media gang box conceals AV cables and a power outlet behind a flat-panel display. A low-profile design fits behind thin mounts and TVs. The box extends into the wall cavity to increase storage capacity by 75 percent. Three interchangeable cover plates and a tamper-resistant duplex receptacle are included.

Installers needing in-wall cable management

Suited for residential or commercial installs where a single NEMA 5-15 outlet and low-voltage pass-through are required behind a screen. Metal mounting wings secure the box directly to drywall without a separate bracket. Not for installations needing more than one power receptacle or higher amperage circuits.

15 A 125 V NEMA 5-15 duplex receptacle

The integrated outlet is rated for 15 amps at 125 volts AC and includes tamper-resistant shutters. This single specification determines whether the box meets the electrical load for the intended display or accessory. Verify local code requirements for in-wall power installation before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Monoprice 112595 media box in drywall and what step is often missed?

Cut the opening, pull wires, insert the box, then tighten the attached metal mounting wings until they clamp the drywall; the step often missed is securing the wings firmly so the box cannot shift.

What maintenance or replacement will the Monoprice 112595 need over time?

The tamper-resistant 15A 125V duplex receptacle may wear after years of insertions; replace it with another NEMA 5-15R outlet if plugs fit loosely or the shutters stick.

What limit appears first when the Monoprice 112595 runs a continuous 15 A load?

The NEMA 5-15 duplex receptacle is rated 15 A at 125 V; sustained maximum current will hit that thermal limit before any other component.
