14 AWG Plenum-Rated Speaker Wire

Monoprice Nimbus Series 113716 is a two-conductor cable built for residential and commercial audio installations. Its CMP-rated jacket meets fire-safety requirements for plenum air spaces. The 100-foot length uses 100 percent pure bare oxygen-free copper conductors for accurate signal transfer.

Suited for in-wall and plenum runs

Installers needing fire-rated cable for ceiling or duct pathways will appreciate the CMP certification and color-coded conductors. Buyers who require four-conductor wire for bi-wiring or multi-room zones should look at alternative configurations not covered by this two-conductor model.

Straightforward pull and termination

The flexible jacket and color-coded cores simplify identification during long pulls through conduit or plenum spaces. The main issue installers encounter is stripping the tough plenum-rated insulation cleanly without nicking the bare copper strands.

Questions about this item

What amplifier terminals accept the 14 AWG conductors on this 100 ft speaker cable?

The 14 AWG bare copper conductors fit standard binding posts, spring clips and banana plugs found on most home and commercial amplifiers.

Can I run this CMP-rated cable alongside existing CL2 or CL3 in-wall speaker wire?

Yes, the plenum-rated jacket meets stricter fire-safety requirements, so it can share pathways with lower-rated cables without violating building codes.

How do I verify the oxygen-free copper conductors are correctly phased after installation?

Each conductor carries a colour-coded jacket; match the same colour to the positive terminal on both the amplifier and speaker for proper polarity.
