Slim 8-inch powered subwoofer

The Monoprice 133829 is a new 8-inch powered subwoofer rated at 100 watts. Its slim, low-profile ported cabinet is engineered to deliver ample bass output while fitting under a chair or sofa. On-wall mounting brackets are included for alternative placement. It suits listeners who need deep bass in rooms where a traditional box cannot go.

Placement and connectivity limits

The enclosure is designed for floor or wall mounting in confined spaces such as behind a TV stand. No wireless capability or streaming protocol is mentioned in the specifications. Buyers who require wireless subwoofer integration or multi-room audio networking should look elsewhere. The unit relies on a wired line-level connection to an amplifier or receiver.

100-watt amplifier rating

The built-in amplifier provides 100 watts of power to the 8-inch driver. This single output figure determines the maximum acoustic output the subwoofer can produce in its ported alignment. Buyers needing higher sound-pressure levels for large home-theatre spaces will need a more powerful model.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 133829 model or a different capacity?

The 133829 is the only model offered; it delivers 100 watts from an 8-inch driver in a slim ported cabinet.

What does the 100-watt rating mean when the subwoofer is in my room?

The built-in amplifier provides 100 watts to drive the 8-inch woofer, producing low-frequency output from a compact enclosure that fits under furniture.

What connections does the subwoofer use and what do they limit?

Line-level RCA inputs accept a signal from your receiver or processor; the internal low-pass filter and amplifier determine the bass extension and output ceiling.
