Bidirectional USB-C to DisplayPort Cable

This 6.00 ft cable connects USB-C and DisplayPort devices in either direction. It links a legacy DisplayPort source to a modern USB-C display or a new USB-C source to a DisplayPort monitor. Model 139240 carries video signals without needing separate adapters for each orientation. The male-to-male connectors fit standard ports on both ends.

Passive cable thermals and power

The cable draws no external power and generates no measurable heat during normal video transmission. Signal loss stays within DisplayPort limits across the 1.8288 m length. No active electronics means zero fan noise and no additional load on the host power supply. The nylon-braided jacket protects conductors from physical damage that could degrade signal integrity.

Plug-and-play convenience

The DisplayPort connector uses a friction-fit design instead of traditional locking tabs, allowing quick insertion and removal. Bidirectional operation eliminates the need to buy separate cables for different source and display combinations. A single cable replaces two unidirectional alternatives, reducing cable clutter on the desk. The braided exterior resists tangling during frequent reconnections.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Monoprice 139240 cable and which end goes where?

Plug the USB-C connector into the source device and the DisplayPort connector into the monitor; the bidirectional design works either way, but the DisplayPort end has no locking latch so push it in until it seats firmly.

What maintenance or replacement will this 6.00 ft cable need over time?

The nylon-braided jacket resists tangling and nicks; inspect the connectors for bent pins and replace the cable if the jacket frays or video drops out at 4K@60Hz.

What limit appears first during sustained 4K@60Hz use on this 1.8288 m cable?

The 6.00 ft length is the practical limit; longer runs can degrade the 4K@60Hz signal, so keep the cable at or below this length for stable performance.
