What these bags are and who they suit

These 13 gallon compostable bags are made from vegetable based material and come in a pack of 50. They are certified to ASTM D6400 and EN 13432 standards and carry BPI and TÜV AUSTRIA OK compost HOME marks. The bags measure 30 inches by 24 inches and are designed for household food waste collection. They suit households that want a certified home compostable liner for kitchen bins.

What the certifications and material change

The vegetable based material breaks down into water CO2 and biomass in about 365 days under home composting conditions. The ASTM D6400 and EN 13432 certifications confirm this performance. The bags contain no plastic or microplastic so they reduce plastic pollution when disposed of correctly. The non toxic composition makes them safe for handling food scraps.

Installation ease and common pitfalls

The roll design allows each bag to tear off easily for quick bin changes. Store the pack in a cool dry place and use within 10 months of purchase to maintain strength. Filter excess liquid from food waste before placing it in the bag to avoid premature weakening. Avoid exposing the bags to excessive heat during storage or use. They are not suited for buyers who need a liner that lasts indefinitely in wet conditions or who cannot compost at home or through a municipal program.
