Portable charger for phones and tablets

The Mophie Powerstation XL stores 20000mAh of energy and delivers up to 20W through its USB-C PD port. Two USB-A ports each provide up to 18W. Up to three devices can be charged at once, with shared output ranging from 15W to 20W depending on the combination. It is suited to anyone who needs extra hours away from a wall socket.

Check your cables and device limits

You will need a USB-C to Lightning or USB-C to USB-C cable for the 20W PD port and standard USB-A cables for the 18W ports. Your phone or tablet must accept Power Delivery to reach the fastest rate; otherwise it will draw at its own maximum. Total output drops to 15W when multiple ports are active, so single-port charging is quicker.

Thermals noise and power draw

The unit has no fan and runs silently during use. Heat stays low at the rated 15W to 20W shared output. It recharges through the USB-C PD port, drawing power at a comparable rate. No AC adapter is included, so you supply your own PD charger for the fastest refill.

Questions about this item

Does the Powerstation XL 20000mAh include a USB-C cable for its 20W PD port?

The product description lists the unit only. A USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to Lightning cable must be purchased separately to use the 20W USB-C PD output.

Should I pick this 20000mAh model over a smaller capacity for multi-device trips?

The 20000mAh cell can deliver an estimated full charge to an iPhone 14 Pro and still retain power for other devices, while the three ports share up to 20W total output.

What does the 20W USB-C PD rating mean when I also plug in two USB-A devices?

With three devices connected the total output is shared and limited to 15W, so each port receives less than its individual 18W or 20W maximum.
