Cuts hard or abrasive materials with a carbide grit edge and gulleted design for chip clearance
The Morse MHSG34 is a 2-1/8 inch (54 mm) diameter hole saw with a carbide grit edge. It is built for electricians, plumbers and maintenance crews who need to cut hard or abrasive materials such as cast iron, cinder block, unglazed ceramics, fiberglass and composites. The gulleted cutting edge clears chips during the cut, and a unique side slot provides leverage for easier slug removal across various material thicknesses.
The saw ships alone; an arbor must be purchased separately. Compatible Morse arbors are the MA35PSNCT (139830) or MA45PSNCT (139847). Adding the correct arbor lets the hole saw mount securely to a drill chuck and transmit torque without slipping, so the carbide grit can engage the workpiece cleanly.
Carbide grit excels on brittle, abrasive surfaces but cuts slowly in thick or ductile metals where a bi-metal toothed saw would clear swarf faster. The gulleted edge helps chip evacuation, yet deep cuts in heavy steel plate may overheat the grit and reduce tool life. The side slot eases slug removal but does not eliminate the need for periodic withdrawal to clear debris.

The carbide grit edge is designed for hard, abrasive materials such as cinder block, cast iron, unglazed ceramics, fiberglass and composites. Service life depends on the specific material and cutting technique used.
The gulleted cutting edge provides chip clearance during the cut. Cutting speed and feed pressure should be managed to prevent overheating the grit edge on thick or dense workpieces.
The carbide grit edge runs cooler than toothed saws in abrasive materials. The unique side slot improves leverage and eases slug removal, reducing operator fatigue during extended sessions.
