Compact UHF radio set for team use

This pack supplies eight Motorola CP185-U portable two-way radios operating on UHF frequencies between 435 and 480 MHz. Each unit delivers up to 4 watts of adjustable output power across 16 channels. The radios meet military standards 810 C, D, E and F plus IP54 rating for dust, rain, shock and vibration resistance. An FCC licence is required to operate these devices.

Rugged build handles heat and noise

The IP54-rated chassis protects internal components from dust ingress and water splashes while meeting military-grade shock and vibration requirements. Adjustable power levels let users reduce output to conserve battery life during routine operation. Voice-operated transmission (VOX) enables hands-free use without extra accessories. The Li-ion rechargeable battery pack supports extended shifts in demanding environments.

Included charger and battery simplify deployment

Every radio ships with a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack and a charger, so the fleet is ready for immediate use. Two programmable buttons provide quick access to features such as channel scan, priority scan, nuisance channel delete, talk-around, emergency alert and voice inversion scrambling. An LED status light and on-screen battery meter give clear feedback on power state and channel activity. Repeater capability extends range when infrastructure is available.

Questions about this item

How do I programme the 16 channels on the CP185-U, and what is the step people often miss?

Use the two programmable buttons to assign each of the 16 channels, then verify the FCC licence is active before transmitting — users frequently forget the licence requirement.

Which part will need replacement first during regular use of the CP185-U?

The included Li-ion rechargeable battery pack will degrade over time and require replacement before the radio chassis itself.

What limits continuous transmission on the CP185-U during heavy use?

The adjustable 4 W UHF output drains the Li-ion pack quickly at full power, so battery runtime becomes the first practical limit.
