Motorola RMU2040 four-pack for job sites

The bundle delivers four RMU2040 two-way radios with a microphone cleaner and four microfiber cloths. Each unit operates on 99 UHF business-exclusive frequencies and supports 219 PL/DPL codes, including six customizable options. A 1500MW speaker provides clear audio in noisy environments such as construction or manufacturing floors. The rugged chassis meets military specifications for dust, wind, shock and vibration resistance.

Upgrade from consumer walkie-talkies

Consumer models typically lack the 99 dedicated UHF channels and the 219 PL/DPL codes that reduce interference on busy sites. The jump is worth it when teams need reliable coverage across a 250 000 square-foot area without a display or keypad to slow operation. The included lithium-ion battery and drop-in tray charger simplify daily power management. Businesses that only need occasional short-range chat will not benefit from the industrial feature set.

Simple drop-in charging and belt carry

Each radio ships with a holster, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, power supply and drop-in tray charger for quick end-of-shift docking. No programming cable or software is included, so frequency changes must be done manually on the device. The absence of a display means users cannot verify channel settings visually in low light. Buyers who need remote programming or GPS tracking should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box so each radio can be worn and charged?

Each of the four RMU2040 units includes a holster, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, a drop-in tray charger and a power supply, plus the bundle adds a microphone cleaner and four microfibre cloths.

How do I set up a private channel on the 99 UHF frequencies?

Choose one of the 99 UHF business-exclusive frequencies, then assign one of the 219 PL/DPL codes — six of them are customisable — so only radios with the same code hear each other.

When will the lithium-ion battery need replacing?

The supplied lithium-ion pack is rechargeable; plan to replace it when run-time drops noticeably, typically after several hundred charge cycles in daily use.
