U-Shape TRRS microphone with headphone monitoring

The Movo MA2000 is an omni-directional condenser microphone that connects to smartphones and tablets through a 3.5 mm 4-pole TRRS jack. It is built for podcasters, interviewers and mobile journalists who need to hear their audio while recording. No batteries are required and the U-shape body doubles as a kickstand that angles the capsule for better pickup.

Replaces basic phone mics that lack live monitoring

Standard smartphone microphones capture sound but give no way to confirm quality during the take. The MA2000 adds a headphone pass-through jack so you can monitor in real time and catch issues immediately. The upgrade is worth it whenever you cannot afford a retake, such as live interviews, field reporting or single-chance dialogue recording.

Limited to devices with a TRRS headset port

The microphone relies on a 3.5 mm TRRS connection, so it works only with phones and tablets that still provide that jack. Devices that have moved to USB-C or Lightning audio without an adapter cannot use the MA2000 directly. The omni-directional pattern also picks up sound from every direction, which is less suited for isolating a single voice in noisy environments.

Questions about this item

Does the 3.5 mm TRRS plug fit iPhone and Android headset sockets?

The 3.5 mm TRRS connector is designed for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android smartphones and tablets that use a standard headset jack.

How do I attach the microphone so it does not fall over while recording?

The U-shape body acts as a kickstand; place it on a flat surface and the capsule angles upward for stable pickup.

Will I ever need to replace a battery or power cell in this microphone?

No batteries are required; the condenser capsule draws power directly from the connected device.
