Extended reach and signal integrity

At 20 feet the cable provides enough length for interview setups, on-camera talent with a belt-pack mixer, or a boom operator positioned away from the camera. The stereo TRS wiring matches the pinout found on most DSLR and mirrorless microphone jacks, so the connection works without adapters. Beyond this length the fixed cable cannot be extended further without adding a coupler, which would introduce an extra connection point.
