Two-microphone lavalier kit

The VersaLav-V2 set supplies two wired cardioid condenser lapel mics, a 20-foot extension cable, and a four-to-one splitter that accepts two microphones and two headphones. Output cables include 3.5 mm TRS, 3.5 mm TRRS, and USB connectors for smartphones, computers, DSLR and mirrorless cameras. The package weighs 0.331 and also provides five foam windscreens, five furry windscreens, and seven lapel clips for flexible mounting.

Wired 3.5 mm and USB interface

Each microphone terminates in a 3.5 mm plug that feeds the splitter, which then offers TRS, TRRS and USB-A outputs. The TRS path suits cameras and recorders, while TRRS and USB serve mobile devices and computers. No wireless link, Bluetooth, or phantom power is present, so cable length and connector type define the practical range and device compatibility. The 20-foot extension adds reach but cannot be daisy-chained beyond the supplied length.

Dual-person recording with monitoring

Two included mics and dual headphone outputs let two speakers record and monitor simultaneously through a single device port. The cardioid pattern reduces off-axis noise for interviews, vlogs and podcasts. The kit does not support more than two microphones, nor does it provide gain control, so users needing additional channels or on-the-fly level adjustment will require a separate mixer or recorder.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the TRS, TRRS or USB cable for my device?

Use the 3.5 mm TRS cable for cameras with a mic jack, the 3.5 mm TRRS cable for smartphones and tablets, and the USB cable for computers. The splitter combines both mics into one plug for each connector type.

How does the cardioid condenser capsule behave in a real interview?

Each lavalier picks up sound mainly from the front while rejecting side noise, so two speakers facing the mics stay clear even in a moderately noisy room.

What does the 3.5 mm splitter actually limit?

The 3.5 mm TRRS connection carries both mic signals on a single stereo plug, so the recorder sees one combined track and you cannot adjust each person’s level independently in post.
