Compact X/Y Stereo Microphone for DSLR Video

The Movo VXR300 is a full-featured stereo microphone designed to record studio-quality audio directly to a DSLR or camcorder. Its dual-channel X/Y condenser configuration captures a wide stereo image while the rugged ABS construction keeps weight to 135g. A selectable high-pass filter at 80Hz reduces low-frequency rumble from traffic or air conditioning. The unit mounts on any accessory shoe or 1/4” thread and includes a shockmount to suppress handling noise.

For solo video creators needing better on-camera

This microphone suits vloggers, interviewers and run-and-gun videographers who want a compact, battery-powered upgrade from built-in camera mics. The integrated windscreen and outdoor wind muff handle indoor and outdoor sessions without extra purchases. It is not for users who require XLR inputs, phantom power operation or multi-track recording capabilities. Buyers needing longer battery life than two AAA cells provide should consider other solutions.

3.5 mm mini-pin output for direct camera connection

The VXR300 terminates in a 3.5 mm mini-pin plug that feeds a super-cardioid signal straight into a camera mic jack. Sensitivity is rated at -33dB with a signal-to-noise ratio of 76dB or more across a 40Hz to 20kHz frequency response. Output impedance settings of -10dB and 0dB allow level matching to different recorder inputs. Power comes from two AAA batteries housed inside the 151 x 65 x 73mm body.

Questions about this item

How often will the 2 AAA batteries need replacing during daily shoots?

Battery life depends on gain setting and recording duration; carry spares for full-day sessions.

At what level does the 76 dB signal-to-noise floor become audible during long takes?

The 76 dB S/N ratio keeps hiss low; raise the 80 Hz high-pass filter to reduce rumble before it reaches the noise floor.

Does the ABS body or shock-mount transmit heat after hours of continuous recording?

Passive condenser design generates no noticeable heat; the ABS chassis and shock-mount stay at ambient temperature.
